Job Summary
Coordinate patient care in the Cancer Center by administering antineoplastic, immunotherapy, and non-oncology medications via IV, IM, subcutaneous, and intravesical routes. Assess and manage medication side effects, oncologic emergencies, and infusion reactions including anaphylaxis. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary providers to deliver safe therapeutic care within the nursing process and ANA standards. Engage patients in mutual goal setting, ensure accurate EMR documentation and procedural charges, and participate in quality assessment and improvement plans. This temporary Staff Nurse Oncology Infusion role requires a California RN with at least one year of oncology experience and ONS Chemo Immunotherapy Administration certification. Pay is $73.67/hour plus DOE.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from college or vocational school from a National League of Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or equivalent accredited school of nursing
- nursing education program that included clinical experiences with actual patients under the supervision of qualified faculty
- 3 or more years relevant experience
- California Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemo Immunotherapy Administration certification
- A minimum of one year experience as an oncology nurse
- Expert IV therapy skills
- Experience assessing critically ill patients in a high acuity oncology, critical care, emergency or equivalent setting
Desired Qualifications
- Oncology experience within the last three (3) years
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification
- One year experience as an oncology infusion nurse in an outpatient infusion center
