Staff Nurse- Oncology Day Unit

Conduct safe preparation and administration of cytotoxic chemotherapy in accordance with Department of Health guidelines, hospital policies, and evidence-based protocols. Administer prescribed treatments via cannula, PICC line, Hickman line, or Portacath while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care. Provide comprehensive patient education regarding treatment plans, potential side effects, and self-care management. Assess, delegate, and supervise staff responsibilities in line with professional, legal, and departmental standards. Maintain clear communication with nursing management regarding unit requirements, incidents, complaints, and risk management issues. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, accreditation processes, and health promotion activities. Ensure accurate documentation, effective resource utilisation, and adherence to internal controls. Support staff development by acting as a preceptor/mentor and contributing to orientation programmes. Maintain a portfolio of learning and attend mandatory training while remaining flexible to meet service demands. Hold a Registered General Nurse licence in good standing with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). Postgraduate qualification in Oncology desirable. Minimum of two years' clinical experience preferred.
