Job Summary
Staff Nurse in Mother Baby Unit (Nights) providing direct and indirect patient care and contributing to the healthcare team. Applies nursing process, conducts thorough patient assessments, develops and implements individualized care plans, administers medications, manages pain, and delivers patient/family education. Engages in clinical decision making, quality improvement, risk management, and unit governance. Supports evidence-based practice and adheres to department-specific credentialing requirements (PALS/ACLS/NRP/BLS) and credentialing timelines. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, RN licensure in Maryland, and may require BSN within 5 years; advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, chemotherapy/immunotherapy) as specified by departments.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current licensure as a registered nurse by the Maryland Board of Nursing
- BLS - American Heart Association Health Provider
- ACLS - American Heart Association
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation
- Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification within 6 months for experienced; within 1 year for new graduates
- Ability to complete BSN within 5 years of hire (if not already completed)
