Job Summary
Staff Nurse for Med/Surg Float provides nursing care and services to patients/families, directs and delegates to LPNs and nursing assistive personnel, utilizes nursing process to deliver care, administers medications, and serves as resource nurse and preceptor. The role includes taking charge duties, teaching LPNs and staff, ensuring quality of care, and maintaining competency. For Oncology Unit, an ONCC certificate must be obtained within one year of hire. Eligible areas for experience include Pediatrics, Mother Baby, NICU, Labor & Delivery, Operating Room, Emergency, ICU, PACU, Ambulatory Treatment, Clinical Decision Unit, Diagnostic Imaging, and Oncology with required 1-year experience or formal coursework. Preferred qualifications include experience with electronic medical records and coursework in basic EKG. Location is Honolulu, HI, US.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Registered Nurse License (Hawaii)
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
- Oncology Unit: ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate to be obtained within 1 year of hire
- Inpatient Specialty Areas: 1 year experience in area of specialty or completion of formal course within established timeframe
- Ambulatory Specialty Areas: Cardiology, Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, Population Management - 1 year experience in area of specialty or completion of formal course within established timeframe
