Job Summary
Lead nursing staff on 4 Clarkson, a newly remodeled 45-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit, managing adult patients with acute and chronic conditions including sepsis, respiratory illnesses, and cardiac diseases. Oversee titratable drips, chest tubes, high-flow oxygen therapy, and end-of-life care while utilizing digital door signs, whiteboards, and virtual monitoring to enhance safety. Work third shift nights in a collaborative environment, balancing clinical responsibilities with team leadership. Begin placement on an alternate Medical Surgical unit prior to December 2026 reopening, with structured 30/60/90-day development touchpoints. Requires 18 months clinical experience, BSN, and current Nebraska license.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 months current clinical experience
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
- Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills
- Ability to instruct and collaborate with others
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) department dependent
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within approved department timeframe
Desired Qualifications
- Magnet approved certification in related area
- Experience leading/supervising a health care team, or in a related area
- Prior experience in a management/leadership position
- Prior experience in one or more of the following areas including cardiology, cardiac drip management, critical care, emergency department, medical-surgical, obstetrics, cardiovascular rehabilitation, telemetry, oncology, neonatal intensive care, pediatric acute care, solid organ transplant, cath lab, EP lab, quality assurance related to health care, perioperative and special procedures in applicable nursing specialty area
- Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork and flexibility
- Ability to multi-task and work-through competing priorities
- Ability to solve complex problems through a well-ordered approach
- Ability to balance and prioritize diverse clinical and leadership responsibilities
- Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish and English in some clinic settings
