Job Summary
Coordinate professional nursing care within the Labor and Delivery unit, including care planning with other disciplines and managing patients weighing over 200 pounds. Maintain standards of professional practice while handling emergency or crisis situations and contact with patients under varying circumstances. Provide care for patients and families, including managing, storing, preparing, and administering hazardous drugs in accordance with NIOSH and USP 800 guidelines. Requires a BSN, two years of L&D and OB experience, and certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AFM. Full-time days shift with rotating weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN
- 2 years previous clinical experience in L&D and OB nursing
- previous experience in nursery
- Registered Nurse - CA State Licensure - RN
- Basic Life Support Certification - BLS
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider - NRP
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring - AFM
- Ability to make fine discrimination in sound
- Ability to work with bodily fluids and substances
- Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances
- Handles emergency or crisis situations
- Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
- OSHA Risk Category I (High Risk)
- Assist with lifting, supporting, maneuvering, and adjusting the position of patients weighing over 200 pounds
- Rotating Weekends
