Job Summary
Assess physical and psychosocial needs of patients, plan individual care, and document care plans. Implement and evaluate individual plans of care, administer prescribed medications and treatments, and take vital signs to detect deviations from normal. Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocols. Educate patients and significant others, coordinate resources for complete patient care, and participate in departmental growth and quality improvement activities. Possesses effective communication and teamwork skills to explain procedures and gain patient cooperation.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a National League of Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or equivalent accredited school of nursing
- Completed a nursing education program that included clinical experiences with actual patients under the supervision of qualified faculty
- Current California Registered Nurse Licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Certificate
- Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) Basic Life Support (BLS) Entry or Prep Curriculum enrollment
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Bio-Chemo certification
- One year full time ICU experience as an RN
