Job Summary
Deliver direct and indirect patient care in the ICU, conducting thorough assessments to develop individualized plans of care that address physical, psychosocial, and learning needs. Execute medication administration, pain management, and evidence-based interventions while continuously evaluating patient responses to revise care strategies. Collaborate with the healthcare team to prioritize activities based on environmental changes and participate in quality improvement, risk management, and shared governance initiatives. Support new staff through orientation and education, ensuring safe practice environments aligned with organizational policies.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Adherence to the credentialing requirements of Luminis Health as stated in the nursing bylaws
- Completion of a BSN within 5 years of date of hire
- Current licensure as a registered nurse by the Maryland Board of Nursing
- BLS - American Heart Association Health Provider
- PALS certification (for Pediatrics Unit, Postanesthesia Care Unit, Endoscopy, Procedural Care Unit, Interventional Radiology)
- ACLS certification (for Heart and Vascular Unit, Neuro Care Unit, ICU/IMU, Interventional Radiology, Postanesthesia Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Resource Nurses, Emergency Department, Prep, Telemetry, Outpatient Infusion, DRCC Bowie, Observation Unit, Endoscopy, Procedural Care Unit, Cardiac Cath Lab, Flex Nursing Unit, Operating Room, Cardiac Cath Lab, Observation Unit, DCMC IP Mental Health, Edwards Pre-Op and PACU)
- ACLS certification within 6 months for New Grad and New to Specialty RN's in ICU
- Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification within 6 months of hire if experienced or within 1 year for new graduate nurse (for Oncology Unit)
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation certification (for Mother and Baby Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Labor and Delivery Unit, Women's Surgical Unit)
