Job Summary

Assess, coordinate, and deliver nursing care for patients in the Labor & Delivery unit, including direct patient care, education, and transitions. Implement an interdisciplinary plan of care that addresses psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors while maintaining collaborative relationships with physicians and support groups. Adhere to hospital policies and industry standards to ensure a high-quality patient experience. Provide basic patient care to a diverse population, document activities legibly, and demonstrate leadership in a fast-paced environment. Requires BSN, RN licensure, and certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NRP. Part-time evening shifts, 32 hours weekly, every other weekend.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • BSN
  • Less than six (6) months of experience in area of specialty
  • Registered Nurse - CA State Licensure - RN
  • Basic Life Support Certification - BLS
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider - NRP
  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification - AFM
  • Working knowledge of patient care techniques, medications, treatments and general health care procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to provide basic patient care to a diverse patient population
  • Ability to read/interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write legibly and effectively present ideas, document activities
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership abilities
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in situations where only limited standardization exist
