Staff Nurse - General Surgical Unit

Staff Nurse for General Surgical Unit responsible for direct and indirect patient care as part of the health care team. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process across culturally diverse patient populations, organizing and reprioritizing care, thorough patient assessments, developing individualized plans of care, implementing plans per standards and policies, and effective medication administration and pain management. Supports nurse-patient-family relationships through teaching plans, addressing learning needs, and applying growth and development knowledge across the lifespan. Participates in clinical scholarship activities (QI, CPI, risk management), supports evidence-based guidelines, and engages in unit governance and staff education. Requires licensed RN in Maryland, BLS, and department-specific certifications (PALS, ACLS, NRP, chemotherapy/immunotherapy where applicable). New graduates or new-to-specialty RNs in ICU may require ACLS within 6 months; various departments require other certifications (BLS, NRP, etc.). Work location is Annapolis, MD (US), with on-site (in-person) duties in the General Surgical Unit. Pay range is $34–$54 per hour (annualized to $70,720–$112,320).
