Job Summary
Assess patient acuity, assign triage levels, and prioritize needs for infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in the Emergency Department. Collaborate with physicians to develop care plans, coordinate diagnostic tests, and ensure timely patient flow while maintaining maximum safety. Manage point-of-care and CLIA-waived laboratory testing, document narcotic inventory discrepancies, and perform daily equipment checks. Delegate tasks to Radiology, Registration, and EMT-Paramedic staff, monitor supplies, and report shortages. Maintain clean working order, ensure biohazard compliance, and document all incidents and patient care accurately. Work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility for holidays and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree Nurse or higher
- Registered Nurse with current Texas license
- Minimum of 2 years emergency room experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, or ENPC
- Strong skills in both oral and written format
- Must be flexible and service-oriented
- Problem-solving abilities with the ability to intervene immediately and awareness of changing conditions that may require additional assistance
- Must be able to lift and/or move using proper body mechanics
- Must submit to random drug screenings
- Must be available for holidays and weekends
