Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients by taking histories, assessing needs, and implementing individualized care plans within the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory. Administer medications safely, perform admission and discharge procedures, and maintain strict aseptic techniques while documenting signs, symptoms, and outcomes. Participate in Total Quality Management, audits, and accreditation processes to enhance patient safety and service quality. Act as a role model and preceptor for students and new staff, demonstrating leadership and contributing to a supportive learning environment. Maintain a professional portfolio, attend mandatory training, and pursue continuous education to promote ongoing professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- NMBI Registered General Nurse licence in good standing
- BLS certification
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Communication skills to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and colleagues
- Planning, organisational, and time management skills
- Flexibility in adapting to internal rotations, rostering requirements, including night duty and on-call responsibilities
- Current and relevant clinical experience in the specialised area within an acute hospital environment
- Up-to-date knowledge of current practices and new developments in the cardiac or specialised nursing field
- Understanding and application of relevant national strategies and standards in nursing care
- Patient-centred care approach with empathy, respect, and a strong focus on quality outcomes and positive patient experiences
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS certification
- A minimum of one year of experience in Cardiology or Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory
