Job Summary
Perform Apheresis procedures autonomously in critical care, emergency rooms, and outpatient centers, including plasma exchange, red cell exchange, and stem cell harvests. Conduct venipunctures, access central venous catheters, and manage vortex and bard ports while assessing patient status and evaluating medication compatibility. Act as a consultant to external healthcare personnel and coordinate treatments with physicians across multiple hospitals. Assemble, restock, and maintain supplies and equipment to ensure a safe, efficient environment. Variable 1st shift Monday to Friday with rotating on-call duties.
Required Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
- CPR certification
- Bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and work experience
- Two years of experience in medical/surgical or critical care nursing, OR-related experience
- Good vein selection and venipuncture skills
- Good verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively discuss procedures and medical issues with patients, families, and physicians
- A current, valid driver's license
- A good driving record
- COVID-19 vaccination (or approved exemption process)
