Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care with a focus on family-centered care for patients of all ages. Provide physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety support while performing leadership, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice duties. Mentor new employees, participate in staff education, and collaborate with provider staff to promote efficient operations and legendary customer service. Support systems-based and informatics initiatives, with potential temporary assignments across the Akron Children's Hospital enterprise. Requires a BSN, Ohio RN license, and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Specialized knowledge judgment and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social and nursing sciences
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, guidance and motivation to other staff members with emphasis on working as a collaborative team to provide quality service to patients and their families
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure to prioritize and complete required tasks and responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner
- Experience working with various levels within an organization
- Experience working in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current certification in Basic Life Support training from the American Heart Association
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare
- Years of relevant experience: Minimum of one (1) year
- Experience working an electronic medical record system (i.e. EPIC) or similar software
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) obtained within 5 years from date of hire
