Staff Network Production Engineer

Job Summary
Monitor network performance and execute changes across datacenter, backbone, and edge infrastructure to ensure high availability for high-performance compute clusters. Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for incidents, guiding post-mortem reviews while managing vendor relationships and contracts. Lead operational excellence initiatives by developing monitoring, alerting, and systems to maintain network reliability, alongside mentoring engineers and establishing best practices for incident response and documentation. Provide visibility into network health through detailed metrics and event statistics, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business needs. Be part of a 24/7 on-call support rotation for the Crusoe Network.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of related experience operating at scale in a production environment
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, QoS, BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, EVPN, VXLAN and MPLS-related technologies like RSVP-TE, LDP, etc.
- Strong understanding of network monitoring protocols and tools like SNMP, IPFIX, Sflow/netflow, and Telemetry
- Familiarity with data center, backbone and edge network architecture and implementations
- Experience with scripting, coding or programming — Python or similar languages — to automate operational tasks and build tooling to operate efficiently at scale
- Hands-on experience with major network devices like Mellanox, Cisco, Arista, Juniper, and other mainstream vendors
- Familiarity with mainstream commercial switch/router chipsets, such as Broadcom, Barefoot, etc.
- Knowledge of public cloud architecture connectivity options to AWS, GCP, Azure, Ali Cloud, OCI, etc.
- Good understanding of IPv6 and IPv4-IPv6 coexistence technologies
- Experience with network observability, flow analytics, dashboarding tools like NSG, Kentik, Grafana, Arbor, Thousandeyes, Catchpoint, packet design etc
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree based on three or more years of work experience
- Must be able to pass a background check
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with BackEnd technologies like Infiniband (IB) / RoCE / Spectrum-X will be a plus
