On-siteSan Jose, California, United States

Job Summary

Build, maintain, and support Archer's network infrastructure across campus, branch, data center, and SD-WAN cloud environments while owning and driving network design standards to ensure conformance. Lead architecture reviews for significant changes, plan and implement LAN/WAN solutions including NG Firewalls and SD-WAN, and design AWS networking to ensure consistent connectivity with on-prem systems. Drive adoption of network automation and infrastructure-as-code practices using Ansible, Python, and Terraform, and build observability through telemetry, alerting, and dashboards. Support troubleshooting including after-hours escalations, research vendor comparisons, and mentor engineers around you. This tech lead role focuses on transforming Archer's enterprise network into a coherent, standards-driven, observable infrastructure for their all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in an enterprise network engineering role supporting complex, multi-site hybrid environments
  • Hands-on expertise with Palo Alto Networks — NGFW, Panorama, GlobalProtect, and Prisma Access; you've designed and operated these, not just maintained them
  • Extensive experience with SD-WAN technologies, including Cisco and Velocloud SD-WAN
  • Strong routing and switching fundamentals — BGP, OSPF, VXLAN/EVPN, L2/L3 switching, QoS, DHCP, DNS and spanning tree
  • VLAN architecture and L3 segmentation design experience across multi-site environments
  • Experience with Cisco, Ubiquiti, and HP/Aruba switching, wireless, and NAC solutions
  • AWS networking experience (VPC, TGW, Direct Connect, security groups)
  • Track record of driving network standards and consistency across a multi-site environment
  • Hands-on installation, operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure
  • Ability to multitask and drive large-scale network project deliverables
  • Experience introducing network automation (Ansible, Python, or similar) in an environment that had little or none
  • Experience with IaC tooling (Terraform, Ansible) for network provisioning
  • Exposure to network observability tooling (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or similar)
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to collaborate across IT and business teams
  • CCNP or equivalent experience
  • CCIE or AWS Advanced Networking

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in a high-growth manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or compliance-heavy environment
