Job Summary
Staff Metallurgist applying hydrometallurgical expertise to characterize heap leach pads and design/execute solution injection programs for copper and gold operations. Interpret leach pad performance data to guide geophysical survey design, collaborate with geophysicists to correlate electrical resistivity, IP, and EM responses with solution content and ore mineralogy, and co-author technical reports and proposals. The role includes participation in field activities (up to 50%), training in geophysical methods, and Spanish-language client interactions. Requires a B.S. in a related discipline, 2+ years of relevant experience, and travel readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline with hydrometallurgy coursework; 2+ years of experience on copper or gold heap leach, dump leach, or in-situ leach projects; Spanish-language fluency strongly preferred; willingness to train in resistivity, IP, and EM methods; ability to travel up to 50% including international assignments; strong communication and Excel/Word skills; OSHA/MSHA certifications and safety protocol adherence; field supervision and report-writing experience
