STAFF METALLURGIST

Job Summary
Staff Metallurgist specializing in hydrometallurgy to characterize heap leach pads and design/execute solution-injection programs for copper and gold operations. Will interpret leach-pad performance data (solution chemistry, recovery histories, column/bottle roll test results) and translate observations into survey objectives for geophysical testing (electrical resistivity, induced polarization, and electromagnetic methods). Collaborates with geophysicists to correlate geophysical responses with solution content, degree of saturation, and ore mineralogy. Co-authors technical reports and proposals; provides Spanish-language support during client interactions; participates in training for geophysical methods and pursues field leadership over time. Up to 50% field work; participates in field planning, safety, and project documentation; requires OSHA/MSHA safety compliance and willingness to travel internationally/domestically.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline with hydrometallurgy coursework
- 2+ years of experience on copper or gold heap leach/dump/in-situ leach projects
- proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Spanish-language fluency strongly preferred
- training in resistivity, IP, EM methods will be provided on the job
- willingness to travel up to 50% of schedule
