Staff Medical & Scientific Affairs Liaison - Cardiometabolic

Job Summary
Develop and cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders, clinicians, and medical societies to identify unmet needs in cardiometabolic research and clinical practice. Drive special projects including physician-initiated clinical studies, voice of customer events, and publication planning while acting as a scientific authority to deliver hands-on education to internal and external partners. Maintain detailed knowledge of product platforms and current literature to bridge the gap between Beckman Coulter and customers, providing clinical support during sessions and training Sales and Marketing teams on scientific messages. Own the preparation of presentation materials for symposia and conferences to improve awareness of cardiometabolic diagnostics. This fully remote role covers a designated territory including North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio, with a requirement to travel 20-25% of the time. The position reports to the Associate Field Director within the Medical & Scientific Affairs organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 9+ years of experience
- Master's/Doctoral degree with 5+ years of experience in the healthcare industry
- Substantial understanding of relevant therapeutic area
- Extensive knowledge of cardiometabolic diagnostics and techniques
- Strong understanding of clinical research methodologies
- Strong understanding of regulatory guidelines
- Strong understanding of medical terminology
- Proven track record to establish and maintain relationships with KOLs, Clinicians and other healthcare professionals
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to both scientific and non-scientific audience
- Ability to travel a minimum of 20-25% of the time
- Valid driver's license
- Acceptable driving record
Desired Qualifications
- 10+ years of product and domain knowledge of healthcare technologies and market trends
- 5+ years' MSL/Medical Affairs experience working in the medical technology, medical device industry in Medical or Clinical Affairs roles
- PhD, MBA or Masters degree in business related field
- Previous experience in cardiometabolic diagnostics and techniques
