Job Summary
Lead complex new product development and sustaining projects as an R&D Core Team Member, applying design control processes to evaluate and challenge project teams as an independent reviewer. Drive design improvements by identifying opportunities for enhancements and implementing changes to optimize product functionality and manufacturability. Provide technical support for the current product line, conduct testing and validation of design changes, and maintain detailed documentation of design changes, test results, and product specifications. Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and customer support teams to ensure seamless product sustainment and compliance with industry standards. Actively participate in continuous improvement activities including Kaizen, 5S events, and Value Stream Mapping. Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience
- High school diploma or equivalent plus 11 years of relevant work experience
- Experience with project management systems (i.e. Microsoft Project, Workfront)
- Expertise with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, and simulation extension tools
- Strong understanding of design control process from concept through commercialization with detailed understanding of the interdependencies of design control deliverables
- Must reside within a commutable distance to Pomona, CA
- Experience managing projects of high complexity
- Expertise with electro-mechanical systems design
- Experience with injection molding, rapid prototyping, and CNC programming/machinery
- Intermediate Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Aptitude to quickly learn business systems
- Strong verbal and technical written communication skills in English
- Ability to build strong partnerships with other departments
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage data when presenting a business case
- Must be able to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally
