Job Summary
Staff Mechanical Engineer to support mechanical design for PSU/BBU/PCU and shelf in data-center products. Responsibilities include developing 3D models and drawings for metal/plastic enclosures and PCBA components using CREO, generating engineering BOMs and specifications, and preparing packaging designs. Must analyze tolerance stack-ups and review testing reports (mechanical, thermal, acoustic, reliability). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer expectations, develop manufacturing instructions for project launches, and address DFM issues with manufacturing partners early in the process. Preferred experience with energy storage systems, battery pack components, busbar design, high current DC connectors, safety insulation, PCB stacking, and cabinet/rack thermal design.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 10 years experience in mechanical design
- At least 8 years experience in sheet metal/plastic enclosure design
- 3D Modeling experience; CREO/PRO-E preferred
- Good English communication skills for multinational teams
- Experience with energy storage systems preferred (battery pack design, busbar design, high current DC connector selection)
- Familiar with thermal design concepts and convection cooling
- Ability to generate Eng BOM, specs, drawings, and packaging designs
- Experience with DFM issues with manufacturing teams
- Experience with PCB stacking and packaging design validation
- Experience with ORV3 BBU/PSU/Power Shelf product design and UL/UL9540/UL9540A/UN38.3 requirements preferred
