Job Summary
Staff Systems Engineer to sustain semiconductor capital equipment manufacturing operations, lead technical escalations, and drive cross-functional resolution of complex system-level issues. Responsibilities include system-level troubleshooting, root cause analysis, escalation management, and collaboration across Manufacturing, R&D, Service, Quality, Suppliers, and Operations. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting across optics, motion systems, controls, software, electronics, and manufacturing processes; lead RCA, containment, corrective actions, and preventive solutions; support system integration, calibration, qualification, and pilot/engineering builds; contribute to manufacturability improvements, design feedback with R&D, ECO/ECN review, and development of troubleshooting workflows; mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in cycle time, uptime, and escalation reduction. Preferred qualifications include experience with semiconductor metrology/inspection equipment, optical/motion systems, NPI readiness, pilot line operations, and scripting (Python/MATLAB); familiarity with MES/ERP/PLM and data analytics is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related technical discipline
- 10+ years of experience in semiconductor capital equipment, advanced manufacturing systems, or complex electro-mechanical systems
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting capability at subsystem and system level
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations, sustaining engineering, or technical escalation management
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and cross-functional integration
- Experience with structured root cause analysis methodologies
