Job Summary
Staff Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Actuation Systems responsible for end-to-end manufacturing development and production of high-performance mechanical actuators for sea and air vehicle platforms. Role entails design for manufacturability (DFM/DFA), development of tooling, jigs, fixturing, and robust process flows for complex actuator assemblies; management of MBOM and routings within MES/ERP; development of comprehensive manufacturing documentation including work instructions, QC plans, inspection requirements, and environmental test procedures; hands-on guidance during prototype builds, troubleshooting, and production validation; and mentorship of engineers and technicians. Requires deep expertise in actuator sub-assemblies, assembly processes (bearing installation, gear train assembly, sensor integration, sealing), and testing methodologies for torque, speed, precision, and environmental qualification. Proficiency with Siemens NX and Teamcenter, experience with MBOM/RCCA within manufacturing environments, and a strong interest in high-performance defense hardware.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
- 12+ years of progressive manufacturing or design engineering experience with precision mechanical components, electromechanical hardware, or motion control systems
- Proven track record of driving technical initiatives and mentoring engineers
- Expertise in delivering complex electromechanical hardware (actuators, robotics) in fast-paced environments
- MBOM creation, MES integration, RCCA for actuator production
- Proficient with Siemens NX for CAD and Teamcenter for PLM
- Hands-on experience with precision machining, additive manufacturing, electromechanical assembly
- U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
- Preferred: experience with control systems, servo motors, or high-performance electromechanical components; environmental testing standards; scripting; advanced manufacturing processes
