Job Summary
Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join Atoms' founding team, bridging high-level AI research and real-world physical actuation for autonomous transport platforms. Multiple subcategories are pursued: AI Research, Post-Training Optimization, and Data Engineering. Responsibilities include researching and implementing cutting-edge RL and distillation techniques for trajectory planning; integrating emerging AI research; designing end-to-end multimodal models translating real-time perception and behavioral goals into vehicle actuation; developing interactive world models from multi-sensor data to enable re-simulation; ensuring autonomous driving models adapt to urban environments and edge cases; collaborating with validation and QA to run model releases in simulated scenarios; and applying expertise in sensor fusion, BEV frameworks, and deployment on edge hardware. Experience with PyTorch/JAX, Python, and C++ is required, with advanced background in model optimization and data pipelines when applicable.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of non-internship professional MLE experience
- Deep expertise in applying AI Transformers to robotics, physical actuation, or spatial-temporal data
- Proven track record designing or training multimodal systems, large-scale VLA models, or generative Diffusion models
- Strong background in Sensor Fusion, combining inputs from Cameras, LiDAR, and Radar
- Fluency in PyTorch or JAX for training large-scale models
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with C++
