Job Summary
Geotechnical Engineer I in Greenville, SC performing landfill-related geotechnical evaluations, field explorations, CQA, and reporting. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering with 0-4 years of experience, EIT (or ability to obtain within 1 year). Travel up to 50% in the southeastern US. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil3D; CCR containment experience preferred. Highly interdisciplinary role combining fieldwork and office analysis within an environmental engineering context.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering and/or Civil Engineering
- 0-4 years of working experience in a geotechnical engineering consulting, project management, GeoStructure design, or solid waste landfill CQA position
- EIT certification or ability to obtain within 1 year
- Able to work out in the field up to 50% of the time, traveling throughout the southeastern United States (Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, North Floriday and parts of Alabama)
- Strong analytical skills and experience with variety of geotechnical analysis, evaluations, and calculations
- Working proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D
- Working experience with Coal Combustion Residual (CCR) containment is preferred
- Experience providing verbal and written recommendations, producing reports, calculations, technical figures, charts, drawings, and specifications
- Field experience and familiarity with construction sites
- Self-Motivated and ability to manage time and priorities
- Ability to complete projects and tasks on an individual basis, as well as work collaboratively as part of a project team
- History and interest in continued involvement in professional / industry associations
