Job Summary
Execute exploration programs including drilling support, geological mapping, sampling, and field data collection across Nevada Projects. Conduct detailed geological logging of drill core and chips, oversee core shed operations, and coordinate with contractors to ensure sample integrity and QA/QC compliance. Compile and interpret geological, geochemical, and drilling data to support exploration targeting and project evaluations, preparing accurate logs, maps, and technical summaries for stakeholders. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Geology with 2–3 years of mining experience, a valid driver's license, and willingness to operate 4WD vehicles in remote environments. The position supports AngloGold Ashanti's exploration and resource development activities, leveraging expertise in epithermal and Carlin-type gold systems to advance project objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Earth Sciences, or related discipline
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to operate 4WD vehicles
- First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain First Aid certification
- Medically fit to work in remote environments with limited support infrastructure
- 2–3 years of mining or exploration experience
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher
- No industry experience required; 2–3 years of mining or exploration experience preferred
- Exposure to economic geology through industry experience, academic research, field programs, or professional development
- Experience with geological data analysis, GIS, database management, or coding/programming
- Ability to work effectively in remote field environments and varying weather conditions
- Geological mapping, logging, sampling, and field data collection
- Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and chain-of-custody protocols
- Understanding of mineral exploration methods and geological interpretation techniques
- Familiarity with epithermal and Carlin-type gold systems
- Ability to identify and assess risks associated with exploration activities
- Competency with geological software, databases, GIS platforms, and data analysis tools
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize work and manage changing field requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders
