Job Summary
Staff Frontend Engineer (Payments & Checkout) owns the end-to-end frontend architecture for checkout and payment flows across web platforms, driving conversion optimization, performance improvements, and reliable UI systems. You’ll partner with product, design, and growth to run experiments, ship iterative improvements, and implement seamless payment states (including retries, failures, and authentication). You’ll lead frontend standards, mentor teammates, and help shape a high-performance frontend culture while working on global payments, multi-currency flows, and crypto-enabled checkout experiences.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of frontend engineering experience
- Deep hands-on experience building and optimizing checkout or payment flows
- Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (React, Next.js)
- Experience improving conversion rates through experimentation and analytics
- Understanding of frontend performance optimization and rendering strategies
- Familiarity with payments infrastructure (Stripe, Adyen, Braintree, tokenization, 3DS)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- Ability to work hybrid in NYC; open to remote candidates for the right individual
