Staff Enterprise Technical Architect

Job Summary
Staff Enterprise Technical Architect who designs, evaluates, and maintains scalable, secure architectures across cloud-native, security, and mainframe stacks. Partners with engineering teams to design patterns, govern standards, conduct architecture reviews, and guide technology choices. Leads cross-functional collaboration, mentors teams, and drives adoption of enterprise standards while considering cost, reliability, and risk. Requires deep experience in software engineering concepts, cloud native architectures, microservices, API design, IAM/security, data modeling, and modern delivery practices; familiarity with AI-enabled capabilities and platforms is a plus. Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to nontechnical leaders and stakeholders; ability to influence multiple teams and shape multi-year roadmaps.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree or significant relevant experience
- 7+ years of relevant and practical experience in software architecture
- Strong grasp of modern software engineering concepts applied to live, business-critical production systems
- Expertise in object-oriented design, cloud native and distributed systems (microservices, service-to-service communication, resiliency, failure handling)
- Strong experience with relational databases for transactional and analytical workloads
- Knowledge of identity and access management concepts (least-privilege, SSO) and security practices
- Familiarity with web/API engineering, performance, accessibility, and system boundaries
- Hands-on experience with containerized workloads, orchestration, scaling, rollout/rollback, operational recovery
- Experience with system-to-system integrations and data contracts/versioning
- CI/CD, DevSecOps, cloud cost considerations and architectural tradeoffs
- Proven ability to support and troubleshoot production systems, on-call rotations
- Technical leadership with ownership of architectural decisions and cross-team influence
- Ability to articulate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders
- Self-driven pattern vetting and establishing new technical standards
- Experience with AI-enabled capabilities and roadmaps (preferred)
- Experience with AWS SageMaker or similar ML platforms (preferred)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and using Jira/ALM (preferred)
