Job Summary
Build, scale, and own core frontend systems by implementing responsive, accessible UIs across devices and browsers. Set up error logging, monitoring, and analytics instrumentation to ensure reliability through automated testing pipelines. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to ship student-facing features while driving high-quality, high-speed execution. Debug and optimize applications for scale and performance using cloud-native deployments with Docker and CI/CD pipelines on Azure or AWS. Own features end-to-end, making critical architecture choices that directly impact how millions of students learn.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript across both frontend and backend
- Solid understanding of React (or Next.js/Vue) and modern CSS frameworks (Tailwind, Styled Components)
- Backend experience with Node.js/Express or similar frameworks
- Proficiency in cloud-native deployments with Docker and CI/CD pipelines
- Hands-on experience with Azure and/or AWS (App Services, VMs, S3, App Config, etc.)
- Familiarity with analytics and monitoring tools (e.g., Sentry, Datadog, Mixpanel)
- Ability to debug, profile, and optimise applications for scale and performance
Desired Qualifications
- Background in early-stage startups or 0→1 product development
- Experience leading projects or mentoring junior engineers
- Familiarity with GraphQL, SSR frameworks (Next.js), and modern build tools (Vite, Webpack)
- Exposure to databases (SQL + NoSQL), caching, and message queues
- Contributions to open-source projects or public repos showcasing full-stack work
- Strong product intuition and ability to scope and ship fast experiments
