Job Summary
Staff Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering at Western Digital focused on sputter processes. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating and following up sputter start-up/conversion activities, auditing sputter parameters with online SPC and procedure conformance, leading sputter process-related troubleshooting, driving sputter process improvement projects (including new products/machines/process qualification), supervising and coaching process techs and technicians, monitoring sputter parameters and online SPC, starting up sputter machines, and collaborating with yield teams to achieve sputter yield and quality goals. Requires a Material Science and Engineering degree and English communication skills. Emphasis on safety, PMR/DS sputter knowledge sharing, and training. Preferred vacuum technology-related studies.
