Job Summary
Staff Engineer focused on Java/AWS, leading design, development, testing, and maintenance of software product applications. Acts as a technical leader, mentors junior engineers, collaborates with architecture and cross-functional teams, and drives high-risk projects to successful delivery. Performs architecture alignment, builds features with Spring Boot, query SQL-based databases, develops and tests code, manages source control with Git, and ensures CI/CD integration. Requires 10+ years of experience, a bachelor’s-level degree in a related field, and US work eligibility with no visa sponsorship. Hybrid work in Scottsdale, San Francisco, Chicago, or New York with responsibilities spanning architecture, debugging, performance optimization, and mentoring, and leveraging cloud services, RESTful design, NoSQL, Kafka, Docker/Kubernetes, and distributed systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or related field
- 10 or more years of related industry experience
- Advanced proficiency in Java
- Very good debugging, troubleshooting and low-level optimizations skills
- Proficient with Git source control
- Familiarity writing automated tests
- Advanced proficiency with SQL
- Advanced proficiency in RESTful service design
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and make the right trade off decisions
- Able to use critical thinking skills and leverage relationships to influence decisions
