Staff Engineer II - MuleSoft API Development

Job Summary

Lead API development and governance initiatives by designing transaction-specific monitoring metrics, implementing MuleSoft policy enforcement, and establishing architectural standards across enterprise application teams. Facilitate collaboration with Information Security, Risk Management, and delivery stakeholders to align solutions with regulatory requirements and business objectives. Develop technical documentation, executive narratives, and desktop procedures while leading complex technical projects and cross-functional teams. Requires 7+ years of experience, 3–5 years with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, and advanced knowledge of Financial Services ecosystems. May require up to 25% travel.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of related experience in IT App Support, IT Development, IT Networking, or similar field
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related IT field
  • 3–5 years of MuleSoft Anypoint Platform experience including designing, developing, and supporting APIs and integrations using MuleSoft anypoint Platform, including API Manager, Runtime Manager, Exchange, and CloudHub/Hybrid deployments
  • Experience in Financial Services API ecosystems and API programs including Governance, lifecycle management, enterprise API standards, and gateway policy enforcement
  • Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, automated API quality checks, and API security scanning
  • Knowledge of FDX, Open Banking, OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, and enterprise integration patterns
  • Experience partnering with Architecture, Information Security, Risk, and Development teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards, regulatory requirements, and technology roadmaps
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices
  • Advanced ability to see the big picture and align projects with organizational goals
  • Expertise in resolving conflicts and addressing challenges as well as skilled at identifying and mitigating risks at the project level
  • Proficient in governance patterns tied to intake, technical reviews and architectural compliance
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills
  • May require up to 25% travel

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous leadership experience
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking
  • Additional experience with pipeline development and leveraging Azure DevOps while working on multiple projects simultaneously
