Staff Engineer – Payments Domain Expert focused on architecture design for scalable, secure, multi-service payment platforms in the banking/fintech space. Responsibilities include acting as the technical authority across a broad payments ecosystem, leading architecture design, solving complex challenges across teams, driving engineering excellence and delivery outcomes, mentoring senior engineers, and influencing design and technical strategy. Required experience includes payments domain expertise (global payment rails, transaction lifecycle, real-time payment systems, ISO20022/ISO8583/EMV/PCI-DSS), and strong backend Java with distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, DDD, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code. Exposure to AI-native engineering and governance for AI-driven systems is noted as a focus area. Ten-plus years of software engineering/architecture experience and a proven track record in payments/fintech, with senior staff/principal level capabilities, are sought.
