Job Summary
Geotechnical Staff Engineer responsible for performing a variety of geotechnical assignments including field logging and soil laboratory assignments, plus geotechnical report writing, reviewing project plans, attending client site meetings, and effective communication with clients and project teams. Role involves multi-project workload, potential on-site observations, sample collection, and specific tests, with field and laboratory work, adherence to safety practices, and optional overtime. Requires ABET-accredited civil/geotechnical engineering degree and ability to obtain EIT/FE certification; proficiency with geotechnical engineering software is preferred. Travel up to 10% and valid driver's license required. Salary range $70K-$85K, with benefits including health, dental, vision, life, 401(k), PTO, and tuition reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Geotechnical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school
- Ability to obtain EIT/FE certification within 6 months of hire
- Knowledge and experience in engineering software (GeoStudio, APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, SLIDE, Settle3 and MSEW)
- Effective communication skills (written, verbal and listening) and solid interpersonal skills
- Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record
- Ability to travel up to 10% of time
- Ability to lift/move/pull 30-50 pounds occasionaly
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
- May work both in field and laboratory
- Bachelor’s degree requirement may be supported by recent graduates
