Job Summary
Staff Engineer Electronics – Mission Processing Engineer at Northrop Grumman based in Melbourne, FL with no hybrid/remote work option. Responsibilities include designing and integrating mission management subsystems, developing computer/network/system models, performing hardware integration and testing, conducting trade studies, documenting architectures, and supporting supplier evaluations and technical reviews. Requires a STEM degree with substantial related experience (Bachelor’s with 12+ years, Master’s with 10+ years, or PhD with 9+ years), active Secret clearance, and willingness to travel (10%). Preferred familiarity with network/cloud/container architectures, SysML and model-based systems engineering, and supplier management practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited university OR Master’s degree in STEM OR Ph.D. in STEM
- 12 years of related professional/military engineering experience OR 10 years with Master’s OR 9 years with Ph.D.
- Active US Government Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) and program access as required
- Experience with model-based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering in Cameo or similar tools
- Experience with supplier/subcontract management and development of supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
- Ability to review supplier development documents and participate in technical reviews
- Ability to obtain and maintain required program access and security clearance
