Job Summary
Manage private development projects including water, sewer, and road infrastructure, ensuring compliance with Township, County, State, and Federal standards. Review project plans and specifications for conformance with ordinances, assist in preparing bid documents, and maintain as-built records. Liaise with developers and utility companies to implement improvements for new residential and commercial projects while coordinating engineering consultants and construction inspectors. Conduct site visits, respond to public requests regarding building practices and codes, and assist other departments in reviewing permit applications. Perform special engineering studies and prepare reports as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with major course work in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Construction Engineering or related field
- Minimum one (1) year of responsible experience in a related field
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities
- Fundamentals of Engineering test passed or confirmation of passing within three (3) years of date of hire
- Obtain Professional Engineer License within seven (7) years of date of hire
- Maintain a valid Michigan Driver's License
- Pass an employment drug test
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Outlook

- Knowledge or experience in the design, construction, administration, and/or inspection of municipal projects
