Staff Engineer for Automation Script Specialist role focused on designing and delivering an automation script framework with AI-assisted capabilities to verify code changes within CI/CD pipelines. The team collaborates with DevTestOps and software development groups to operate a cloud-hosted Test Automation Control Center that manages and analyzes tests from PR through regression validation across on-prem equipment (Celestica switches, IXIA generators) and cloud services. Key activities include building scalable automation scripts, integrating AI-driven diagnostics, enabling predictive quality analytics, and ensuring robust software engineering practices (TDD, CI/CD). Required experience spans Python-based automation, testing frameworks, REST/Webhooks, cloud and on-prem environments, and experience with networking hardware/software stacks (SONiC, OpenBMC, Kubernetes/Docker), as well as CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket Pipelines). The role emphasizes collaboration across hardware network engineers and cloud software developers, and involves travel for remote work as needed. Salary range stated as 118K-184K with a typical education path of a Bachelor degree or equivalent.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • 10 to 15 years typical experience
  • Expert Development: proven experience building complex automation script frameworks
  • In depth experience running, triaging, and debugging automation scripts
  • Familiarity with high-performance networking environments (SONiC, OpenBMC) and data center hardware
  • Experience integrating AI agents or LLM-based workflows into software applications
  • Mastery of Python and testing frameworks (PyTest, Robot Framework)
  • CI/CD integration experience (Azure DevOps or BitBucket Pipelines)
  • Experience with REST APIs and Webhooks
  • Cloud infrastructure familiarity (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Linux systems expertise
  • Strong collaboration and cross-functional skills
  • Ability to design modular, reusable automation frameworks
  • Experience with IXIA or Spirent traffic generators
