Job Summary
Build and ship production-grade AI products end-to-end, owning problem framing, data pipeline design, and live deployment iteration. Lead technical scoping workshops with city leaders to solve local challenges using agentic workflows and scalable solutions. Write clean, scalable backend code for APIs and data flows that power real-time decision-making and LLM-powered experiences. Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data science, and operations teams to prioritize high-impact AI opportunities. Shape the technical culture of the new AI Labs team while staying close to the frontier of AI development to introduce new tools and approaches. Work in a fast-moving environment with direct access to leadership, requiring autonomy and ownership without predefined constraints.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on experience building full stack applications
- track record of owning features end-to-end rather than working in isolation on models or research
- 3+ years of working with AI tools and/or building AI powered products
- deep expertise across the AI stack - including LLMs, predictive modelling, and the data infrastructure required to support them in real-world environments
- strong engineer at your core - comfortable designing scalable APIs, working with distributed systems, and writing code that is clean, maintainable, and built to last
- You're energized by ambiguity and early-stage environments
