Job Summary
Staff Embedded Firmware Engineer — Inverter, BESS at Enphase Energy develops firmware and embedded software for real-time control of microinverter systems, collaborating with hardware engineers from concept to validation. The role involves defining and implementing firmware for autonomous grid connection, validating algorithms in system simulations, designing for functional safety and regulatory compliance (UL1741, IEEE 1547, IEC 62109), developing unit and system tests, mentoring junior engineers, and accelerating firmware development and release flows using AI tools.
Required Qualifications
- B.E/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering and/or Power Electronics/Power Systems
- 8+ years of experience in embedded software or firmware design and development
- Experience with complex inverter controls
- Proficiency in C, C++, and Assembly for real-time applications
- In-depth experience coding in FreeRTOS and bare-metal environments
- Ability to understand and implement DSP concepts in a 32-bit or larger microprocessor environment
- Familiarity with development tools such as GCC, GDB, Eclipse, and GNU Make
- Familiarity with source code management tools such as Git and Mercurial
- Experience with Zephyr RTOS
- Familiarity with firmware build pipeline tools such as Bitbucket, Docker, GitHub, and JFrog; experience with CI/CD release processes is a plus
