Job Summary
Staff Electrical Hardware Design Engineer role centered on full-cycle PCBA design for spaceflight hardware. Responsibilities include concept-to-flight readiness lifecycle ownership, cross-disciplinary design reviews, board-level bring-up, test plan definition, validation for flight readiness, and collaboration with mechanical, RF, software/FPGA/SoC, and operations teams. Requires strong experience in analog/digital PCB design, DFM/DFT for production, vendor engagement, and mentoring engineers. ITAR-compliant eligibility and a Master’s degree are required; travel up to 10% (domestic/international). Location onsite in Louisville, CO with a base salary range of $145,920 – $181,949 plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
- 8+ years of experience designing and debugging PCBAs
- Proficiency in Altium Designer (or similar ECAD tools)
- Hands-on experience with lab instruments (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers)
- Solid understanding of digital buses (I2C, SPI, UART, RS422, CAN, USB, PCIe, Ethernet)
- Experience interacting with contract manufacturers, supporting DFM reviews, and resolving production issues
- Strong documentation habits and organizational skills
- Exposure to radiation effects and mitigation in electronic design
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC design practices and validation
- Familiarity with satellite electrical systems engineering (propulsion, EPS, GNSS, ADCS)
- To conform to ITAR, U.S. citizen or eligible to obtain required authorizations
