Job Summary
Lead Sentinel program infrastructure work products through peer reviews, design reviews, and board meetings to ensure adherence to technical baselines and requirements. Balance stringent quality standards for technical artifacts with the rapid pace of procurement, fabrication, and construction of test assets and early prototypes. Present sufficient information to Program Management to make informed decisions between conflicting technical approaches based on program and IPT-level cost, schedule, and technical impacts. Champion process improvements that allow systems engineering, design engineering, and analysis teams to define and board high-quality products in a cost and time-efficient manner. Decompose direction from leadership to technical teams, ensuring understanding and adherence to that direction. Negotiate competing priorities and interests across internal and external stakeholder communities to pursue the best course of action for the Sentinel program. This role supports the Sentinel program within Northrop Grumman Defense Systems. The position requires a 9/80 work schedule and involves 25% travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with 12 years of experience
- Master's degree with 10 years of experience
- PhD with 8 years of experience
- Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time
- At least 4 year of experience leading Electrical design efforts on MILCON, major infrastructure/building projects, or Aerospace and Defense programs
- Experience with electrical and power systems design
- Knowledge of cable design and qualification processes
- Controls systems and engine/generator sets
- Experience in power system studies including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and relay coordination
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards, including the National Electric Code (NEC), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), International Building Code (IBC) and Unified Facilities Criteria
- Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time

Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in STEM preferably an Engineering degree
- Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an active Special Access Program (SAP)
- Familiarity with TEMPEST and EMI requirements and design implementations
- Experience with ETAP Electrical Power and EasyPower System Analysis software
- Experience in NX for cable assembly routing or general mechanical design
- Proven performance as an Engineering Leader in all phases of acquisition, design, integration, and execution
- Strong understanding and broad application of engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.)
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities
- Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations
