Job Summary
Registered Nurse Educator leads staff development programs with instruction on safety, body mechanics, infection control, hazardous materials, and regulatory mandates; maintains educational practices through coaching and documentation; participates in QAPI and collaborates with the Director of Quality/Nursing to plan and implement staff education; maintains records of educational activities, attendance, and outcomes; administers TB/Hep B vaccines per guidelines; conducts annual tuberculosis screening and related follow-up; requires NY RN license and minimum 3 years of experience in Long Term Care; CPR certification (trainer preferred); training in rehabilitative/restorative nursing; strong communication, confidentiality, and ethical standards; facility background includes 176-bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing in NY, with emphasis on education and staff development.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Nurse Educator in Long Term Care
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Previous experience working in a long-term care setting
- Demonstrated ability to creatively educate and coach
- CPR certification required, CPR trainer certified or willing to become a trainer
- Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices
- Ability to interact, educate, coach and communicate with a wide cross-section of individuals
- Highest ethical standards with respect to discretion and confidentiality
- Knowledge of emergency preparedness, safety, fire, disaster, OSHA
- Knowledgeable of infection control procedures
