Staff DFT Engineer
On-site · Bengaluru, Karnataka, India
Job Summary
Lead the end-to-end DFT strategy for complex SoCs from architecture to silicon bring-up, defining DFT architecture at chip/subsystem level and driving testability requirements early in RTL design. Own DFT implementation including scan insertion/ stitching, test compression, LBIST/MBIST, boundary scan, and test access strategies; perform DFT signoff covering coverage, IR drop, power, and timing impacts; debug DFT issues across RTL, synthesis, P&R, and gate-level stages. Generate and optimize ATPG patterns to achieve high fault coverage with efficient pattern count. Bring-up and production support for first silicon, collaborating with RTL, PD, verification, ATE, and manufacturing; mentor junior engineers and establish best practices and reusable DFT methodologies. Cross-functional collaboration to communicate DFT requirements and risks, and drive ECOs for DFT-related silicon issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a closely related field
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in DFT methodologies and industry-standard test techniques
- Proven experience in leading DFT teams through end-to-end SoC execution, from architecture to silicon bring-up
- Strong team management and leadership experience with a track record of mentoring and growing engineering talent
- Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with: Logic BIST (LBIST), Automatic Test Pattern Generation (ATPG), DFT Rule Checks (DFT DRC), Scan chain compression and stitching, Low-power DFT techniques, Memory BIST (MBIST) including repair mechanisms, Boundary Scan (IEEE 1149.1), JTAG architecture and TAP integration, DFT-specific STA constraints
- Proficient in using industry-standard DFT EDA tools, including Cadence, Siemens
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Perl, Tcl, and/or Python
- Strong understanding of RTL design, Lint/CDC, low power checks, and full ASIC design flow
- Experience with high-volume production test, ATE bring-up, and test cost optimization
- Exposure to safety-critical applications (automotive, industrial) and standards (ISO 26262) from a test/reliability standpoint
Additional Requirements
- Export licensing review may apply for applicants depending on citizenship/visa status as per U.S. export controls
