Job Summary
Design, implement, and maintain highly scalable and secure cloud environments on AWS, managing services including VPC, EKS, RDS, and AppStream. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and GitOps methodologies while defining Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or CloudFormation. Establish monitoring and alerting solutions using OpenTelemetry, SignalFX, and Splunk, and develop automation scripts to optimize PostgreSQL and RDS databases. Enforce security best practices, drive adoption of ITIL and Agile methodologies, and mentor junior engineers within a geographically distributed team. This Staff DevOps Engineer role supports Velotic's Smart Factory Cloud Team, focusing on AI-enabled manufacturing and industrial software solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of strong hands-on experience in DevOps, CloudOps or SaaS Ops, managing large-scale enterprise SaaS applications in public cloud (preferably AWS)
- Strong expertise in AWS cloud services, networking, security and cost optimization
- Deep understanding of containerized application deployments using EKS and ArgoCD
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins and GitOps methodologies
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Crossplane or CloudFormation
- Knowledge of database management with PostgreSQL, MS SQL or AWS RDS
- Experience in setting up monitoring and logging solutions using OpenTelemetry, SignalFX and Splunk
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash or other scripting tools
- Excellent understanding of ITIL, Agile methodologies and DevOps best practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across global teams
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments and drive initiatives independently
Desired Qualifications
- Experience setting up enterprise SaaS environments from scratch
- Knowledge of security frameworks and best practices in cloud environments
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as SOC2, ISO 27001 and GDPR
