Job Summary
Develop and implement job skills training, in-service education, and employee health monitoring for nursing department staff. Identify process improvement initiatives to enhance customer service, workflow, and the work environment. Collaborate with administrators and HR to assess educational needs, plan programs, and monitor certification and licensing renewals. Administer TB and Hepatitis B vaccines, obtain and maintain files for all programs, and track student and instructor schedules. Conduct competency skill reviews on hire and annually, provide skill training to new staff in deficient areas, and coordinate mandatory in-service topics. Evaluate training effectiveness, regulate CNA skill performance, and participate in hiring screenings and QA meetings. Ensure all employees complete required training hours.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with required current state license
- Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience In a healthcare setting
- Must have a current/active CPR certification
- Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to long term care
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills
- Demonstrate intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, Internet, and intranet navigation
- Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment and supportive company objectives
- Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity
- Strong and analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions
- Ability to deal with new tasks without the benefit of written procedures
- Approachable, flexible, and adaptable to change
- Function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and vendors
