Job Summary
Orient and educate all nursing personnel in the nursing center to ensure safe, effective care aligned with federal, state, and facility guidelines. Develop education programs addressing staff needs and teach current patient care and nursing center practices. Supervise and monitor new nursing employees throughout their individualized orientation period. Perform annual competency testing, evaluate staff performance, and clinically appraise to identify areas for education. Provide oversight to the Employee Health Program, including administering and tracking tuberculosis, hepatitis, and influenza immunizations for all employees. Report to the Director of Nursing. Requires current RN license, three years clinical experience, and two years in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- current RN license
- Excellence in clinical nursing skills
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience
- Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing
- one year as an educator
- Experience in Gerontology
- Training and/or experience in adult learning
