Job Summary
Teach Nursing Assistant course curriculum including clinical, classroom, and hands-on training to prepare students for certification. Plan, select, and implement active learning activities while distributing course competencies, grading procedures, and attendance policies. Evaluate student progress through testing, observation, and skill assessment, maintaining accurate records on attendance and instruction hours. Collaborate with the Director of Staff Development to facilitate mandatory education for nursing home employees and assist in preparing students to handle job demands and scope of practice.
Required Qualifications
- 2 Year/Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years in a long term care RN experience
- NYS Registered Nurse license
- New York State Department of Health approved Train the Trainer or qualified to take Train the Trainer after hired within 6 months of hire
- Minimum 2 years teaching Nursing Assistant program, preferred
Desired Qualifications
- 4 year/Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
