Job Summary
Develop and coordinate long-term care clinical management educational curriculum for nurses and nursing assistants. Organize structured orientation and mentoring programs to ensure staff acclimation to facility policies and systems. Implement in-services on nursing policies, safety, and computer hardware/software troubleshooting. Serve as primary facility contact for technology needs and provide ongoing feedback on staff competency to nursing directors. Maintain systems tracking qualifications, TB tests, immunizations, CPR certification, and performance evaluations. Assist with applicant screening and supervise nursing staff as required. Provide direct patient care as needed to meet resident needs.
Required Qualifications
- A valid Alabama Registered Nurse license
- Experience in clinical instruction
- Experience in Certified Nursing Assistant training
- Experience in a long-term care facility
- Experience in other related health care facility
- CPR certification
- Must be able to move about intermittently throughout the workday
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
- Must be able to reach, bend, and/or stoop intermittently throughout the work day
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
- Must be able to push, pull, or move a minimum of 100 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics and assistance
- Must be able to walk/stand 75% of the day
