Job Summary
The Staff Development and Training Coordinator is responsible for improving the productivity of AVCP’s employees and the effective development, coordination and presentation of training and development programs for all employees. It includes assessing organizational-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives, identifying and arranging suitable training solutions, and designing and implementing effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance. Responsibilities include coordinating training, development, and education programs; assisting staff in developing individual training plans; preparing and presenting training workshops; coordinating with outside consultants; maintaining a training resource library; monitoring staff pursuits in advanced training and goal setting; researching and developing training programs and lesson plans; maintaining training records; ensuring required trainings are completed; contributing to supervisor training; researching online training systems for local and remote locations; providing routine reports; developing/maintaining corporate staff development policy; assisting HR with staff development issues; managing compliance processes including fingerprints and background investigations; maintaining confidentiality and secure files; and other duties as assigned. Essential knowledge includes PL 101-630 compliance, background investigations, and cross-functional collaboration. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a bachelor’s degree in education or business administration (or equivalent combination with HR/training experience), two years of relevant experience, strong verbal and written communication, cross-cultural ability, mentoring, administrative skills, and light travel. Preferential familiarity/fluency with Yup’ik lifestyles and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
