Job Summary
Diagnose dental conditions, prescribe and carry out appropriate oral treatments, and record patient transactions in the dental record. Educate individuals on oral health conditions and disease prevention while serving on staff committees and preparing reports for the Chief Dental Officer. Design department policies, assist in program planning, and provide consultation to the CEO and Board on dental health issues. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, recruitment activities, and on-the-job training for staff. Travel when necessary to represent the corporation and attend meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited dental school
- Completion of an accredited general practice residency program preferred
- Knowledge of public health principles and practices preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required
- Ability to maintain appropriate clinical privileges required
- Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of Montana
- Current CPR (BLS) certifications
- Unrestricted Montana DEA
- Medicare and Medicaid provider numbers
- Comprehensive knowledge of primary dental care in outpatient settings
- Knowledge of the principles and practice of modern dentistry as related to public health organizations and community health programs as well as current social and economic problems pertaining to public health and their impact on primary health care
